CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
For the past several weeks we have been carefully monitoring trusted global information sources regarding the origins and public health risks associated with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
Over the next few months, there will be an increasing general public awareness of the range of measures that we can take to protect ourselves and our families from exposure to Covid-19.
We do not yet have complete data regarding the Epidemiology and Pathogenesis (origin) of Covid-19, its Diagnosis (precisely how Covid-9 is distinguished from other Coronavirus strains), and the Immunological Indications (how the natural immune system responds and defends against this novel Coronavirus strain).
Based on available scientific and medical information there is no immediate antiviral therapy for Covid-19 and the virus remains symptomatic. We know that Coronavirus causes acute, mild upper respiratory infections similar to the common cold. These infections can develop into more severe respiratory complications.
In the immediate term, it is essential that we be particularly careful about our exposure to the transmission of the virus. Practicing comprehensive personal hygienic measures is key. It is also important to clean and disinfect products and substances that have been exposed to broad public contact. Thoroughly wash all fruits, vegetables and other food products before eating. Carry disinfection wipes to clean surfaces that have been exposed to broad human contact.
